How we picked these spa and wellness hotels

We started by looking at hotels in Iceland that list spa or wellness facilities such as a spa, sauna, steam room, or massage. Each hotel's own listing was used to confirm these amenities. Then we ranked the hotels first by star rating and then by guest rating. Properties with ratings from very few reviews were ranked lower to ensure that the order reflects consistent guest satisfaction. This method gives you a clear, honest guide to the top spa and wellness stays in Iceland for 2026.

Tips for spa and wellness stays in Iceland

Book your spa treatments in advance, especially during peak travel seasons, to secure your preferred time and avoid disappointment.

Pack a swimsuit and flip-flops for easy access to saunas and steam rooms; some hotels may provide robes, but it's best to confirm.

Stay hydrated before and after using spa facilities, as the heat can be dehydrating, and take breaks if you feel lightheaded.

Combine your spa stay with Iceland's natural wonders, such as geothermal pools or scenic hikes, to enhance your wellness experience.
